Stomach flu in a hotel room
I am lying on my bed in a hotel room on the east coast with the stomach flu. This is the type of situation that has the potential to lead me down the road to the land of negative thoughts. My first and most powerful negative thought is “do I have cancer?” This thought is very powerful because I have had three cancers. However, I know that my one year old grand daughter has the stomach flu and that I took care of her the day before I left on this trip. But just to be assured that my negative/fear machine is in working order, I have had thoughts about a weak immune system and also looked up the stomach flu on the Internet to confirm that is contagious. I can’t let the cancer scare off the hook completely. What is the lesson from this experience? Figure out how you were probably exposed to the stomach flu and then relax and enjoy your cancer free stomach flu. After all, the Olympics are on TV. Also, keep taking your anti depression meds to keep the doom and gloom at bay.
